Web version

The Web version of ISO 5127 provides the public a free, open and shared service platform with a simple and intuitive interface as well as a friendly user experience. Compared with printed version or electronic documents such as PDF file, it is easy to use and be widely shared.

Users can not only search terms and browse hierarchies, but also view complete details of a term, its related terminological entries, and its Linked Data online.

Linked Data service

According to the application requirements and characteristics of ISO 5127 and following the four principles of creating Linked Data, we implement the Linked Data service of ISO 5127, which mainly provides the following functions.

  1. Provides the HTTP URI as the unique identification for all terminological entries of ISO 5127 (that is, the resources to be published). Through this HTTP URI, specific term information can be located.
  2. Provides both address bar and search box to input URI or entry number (or term itself) querying Linked Data, and the result can be displayed professionally or popularly.
  3. By querying the object's URI, you can get a lot of meaningful information about the object (i.e. associated objects), such as term entry information (i.e. entry number, preferred term, admitted terms, definition, notes, examples, source, etc.), as well as URI and optional download formats, and can query their details via the RDF links of the associated objects. Associations with similar concepts in other vocabularies can be provided in the future.
  4. Linked Data with SKOS description can be downloaded or browsed online in three formats: RDF/XML, N-Triples or JSON, which are standard interchange formats in the IT world.
  5. Provides SPARQL Endpoint to facilitate user customizing machine-processable data formats.

Web Services

ISO 5127 Web Services allow access to ISO 5127 contents through SOAP Web Services technology.

The current implementation of ISO 5127 Web Services is fed by data from the RDF version of ISO 5127.

The WSDL file for the Web Services is located here:

http://URIbase/ilod/CXF/wservice?wsdl

(The URIbase should be specified by ISO. The URIbase currently in use is “www.lib.szu.edu.cn/nkosapp”: http://www.lib.szu.edu.cn/nkosapp/ilod/CXF/wservice?wsdl

A list of the currently implemented ISO 5127 Web Services is provided here, together with their description and invoking mothed.

ISO 5127 can also be accessed through SPARQL endpoint.

Download in RDF

The first step of implementing ISO 5127_CLSS is to convert the data of ISO 5127 into a SKOS file in RDF format according to the SKOS description scheme. The full RDF file can be downloaded under the authority of ISO.
