China's Special Economic Zone Development Research Center of Shenzhen University
In 1983soon after Shenzhen University was founded , the Special Economy Institution of Shenzhen University was set up and authorized under the recognition of Shenzhen municipality. At the end of 1993, The Institution was enlarged and was renamed as "Special Economic Zone, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Economies Studies ". After that, it has undertaken a great number of scientific research and academic exchanges. It has become one of the most important academic organizations with regard to the study of special economic zone in China, and has some influence abroad. To answer for the demand that "China's special economic zone should be in existence throughout the entire process of China's reform, open and modernization", the University decided to organize scholars of humanities and social sciences to make the study of the special economic zone synthetically and to get it upgraded as well. In Jan. 2000, China's Special Economic Zone Development Research Center of Shenzhen University was set up.
The Universities Service Centre for China Studies [English Version]
The Universities Service Centre for China Studies (USC), since its establishment in 1963 by a group of western scholars, has been dedicated to contemporary China Studies. After it was transferred in 1988 from the American Council of Learned Societies to the Chinese University of Hong Kong, it has not only maintained its original functions but endeavors to build up a first class collection on contemporary China and improve services to a growing China study community.
